Information

LA22 9SL - Grasmere is probably Cumbria’s most popular village, thanks to William Wordsworth (1770-1850). The town is now totally given over to the tourist industry, with plenty of gift shops, and places to eat, and of course the famous Grasmere Gingerbread. Most of the buildings date from the 19th or early 20th Century, though the farms around Grasmere are much older.

Wordsworth and his wife Mary have a simple tombstone in the village churchyard of St Oswald’s now one of the most visited literary shrines in the world. The 13th century Church stands on the bank of the River Rothay, along whose banks pleasant walks can be made.

The rally field is situated on the edge of the village just a few minutes walk from the village centre and is an excellent base for walking and sightseeing in the Centre of the Lake District.

There are a variety of shops and a small supermarket in the village. There are Booths Supermarkets at Keswick and Windermere.

Directions : Leave the M6 at Junction 36, take the A591 towards Windermere, stay on this road eventually passing through Ambleside, on approaching Grasmere take the B5287 towards the village and turn right in to the field. NLCC signs will be provided from the A591 / B5287 junction to the Rally.

The rally opens at 12:00 noon

PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT ARRIVE EARLY AND DO NOT ENTER THROUGH THE CAR PARK

The rally field will close at 12:00 noon on Tuesday 3rd May and all vans must be off the field by this time in order to comply with the National Park Regulations.
